Lakshmi Sowjanya Uppala

I am a results-driven Technical Program Management leader with ~15 years of experience, including 10 years leading large-scale, complex technical products and programs across global organizations such as Amazon and Capital One. I bring deep experience in technical program and product leadership, including building high-performing TPM and engineering teams, driving strategic portfolio execution, aligning OKRs, and establishing strong operational rigor across mission-critical distributed systems that support billions of transactions daily.

I partner closely with business, engineering, and data leaders to deliver high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that generate hundreds of millions of dollars in measurable business value. I am skilled at proactively managing risk, navigating ambiguity, and influencing executive stakeholders to drive outcomes.

Some of my key achievements include leading the launch of a multi-device OTT product from the ground up for one of Asia’s largest content providers, which now serves over 50 million paid subscribers worldwide. I also spearheaded the development and launch of large-scale AI and LLM-based solutions to solve tax classification challenges impacting over 100 billion products and more than 300 million customers transacting on Amazon daily.

Outside of work, I am an active speaker in product and program management and have presented at multiple global Agile conferences. I also lead the Tech Program Management Council at Capital One, with a focus on strengthening the community and supporting career development for TPM professionals.
