Vinay Venkatesh

I am an AI/ML Software Engineer in Google Search with over 11 years of industry experience building large-scale intelligent systems across search, ranking, recommendation, and edge AI. My work centers on turning advanced machine learning research into production architectures that operate under demanding real-world constraints, including ultra-low-latency inference, privacy-sensitive environments, and internet-scale deployment. At Google, I have contributed to AI/ML initiatives in Search that shape large volumes of user interactions and commercially significant discovery experiences. I hold a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, which provided a strong foundation in machine learning, systems, and applied engineering.

Alongside my industry work, I maintain an active presence in the broader AI/ML ecosystem through applied research, technical presentations, and conference leadership. I have presented papers at IEEE and other conferences on topics including federated instruction tuning of quantized large language models on low-memory edge devices, privacy-preserving AI, and domain-adaptive recommendation systems. I have also served on program committees and as a reviewer for multiple technical conferences, helping evaluate emerging work in AI/ML systems, architectures, and deployment. I would be excited to contribute to the DevNetwork AI/ML Advisory Board by bringing a combination of production-scale engineering depth, research perspective, and active engagement with the next generation of AI/ML technologies.
